New York Post: New York to reap more than $100B with passing of infrastructure bill

The Empire State is set to reap upwards of $170 billion after the House of Representatives passed a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill late Friday night...Like its Senate counterpart, the bill was bipartisan, with 13 Republicans — including New York Reps. John Katko, Tom Reed, Nicole Malliotakis and Andrew Garbarino — signing on to the legislation.

Small businesses may be gaining momentum in the fight against cyberattacks. The U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday passed the Small Business Development Center Cyber Training Act of 2021. Introduced by Rep. Andrew Garbarino, R-Massapequa Park, in July 2021, the bill garnered strong bipartisan support with a vote of 409-14.

The House on Tuesday approved two bills to strengthen the cybersecurity of small businesses, which have faced escalating threats during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Small Business Administration (SBA) Cyber Awareness Act would require the SBA to issue a report on its cybersecurity capabilities and notify Congress in the event of a cybersecurity breach potentially compromising sensitive information.
