Representative Andrew Garbarino New York's 2nd Congressional District

Congressman Andrew Garbarino is a lifelong Long Islander who has dedicated his career to public service, guided by the values of family, faith, and community.

Congressman Garbarino was elected to represent New York’s 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2021. Prior to serving in Congress, he represented the 7th District in the New York State Assembly for four terms and was an attorney at his family’s law practice in Sayville. He is a graduate of George Washington University and earned a law degree from Hofstra University.

His focus on protecting Americans resulted in his selection to be Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, where he is leading efforts to combat terrorism, secure the border, strengthen cybersecurity, and harden national defenses. Congressman Garbarino also serves on the House Financial Services Committee and the House Ethics Committee, and is a leader of several bipartisan groups including the Problem Solvers Caucus, Italian American Congressional Delegation, and the Climate Solutions Caucus.

Since arriving in Congress, he has been a results-driven advocate for Long Island’s South Shore. As co-chair of the Congressional SALT Caucus, he successfully led negotiations to quadruple the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction cap to $40,000, delivering much needed relief for middle-class families across New York. He has also been a national leader on 9/11 health care, securing critical funding for the World Trade Center Health Program and introducing legislation to ensure responders and survivors continue to receive the care they deserve.

His unwavering focus is on delivering real results for Long Islanders, whether restoring essential tax relief, ensuring heroes receive health care, strengthening national security, or helping his constituents resolve problems with federal agencies.
