Rep. Garbarino Statement on New York Attorney General Report on Nursing Home Deaths

WASHINGTON – Representative Andrew Garbarino released the following statement regarding New York Attorney General Tish James’ report on New York’s nursing home policies.

“New York has been one of the states hit hardest by COVID-19, with Long Islanders still suffering every day, especially in nursing homes and long-term care facilities. The recent New York Attorney General’s report reveals that not only did Governor Cuomo knowingly put my constituents in harm’s way by forcing nursing homes to accept COVID-19 patients, but he also repeatedly failed to release accurate data to the public. His gross misjudgment has claimed more lives than anyone could have ever expected.

On behalf of every family member, friend, and loved one grieving in my district, we deserve an immediate explanation from Governor Cuomo and his Administration.”
