WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the House Republican Steering Committee, the committee in charge of selecting which Republican Members will serve on various committees, has chosen Congressman Andrew R. Garbarino (R-NY-02) to serve in the House Financial Services Committee during the 118th Congress. Rep. Garbarino previously served on the House Small Business Committee during the 117th Congress.
"I am honored to have been selected to serve on the House Financial Services Committee and I look forward to utilizing my new position to better serve the people of New York's Second District," said Rep. Garbarino. "The financial services industry is the lifeblood of New York’s, and specifically Long Island’s, economy. I am incredibly proud of the work I accomplished while serving on the House Small Business Committee during my first term in Congress and I am thrilled to be able to continue my efforts to strengthen Long Island's economy with this new committee assignment. I am honored to be taking up the mantel of my predecessors, Pete King and Lee Zeldin, who have both served on the committee, and am committed to delivering on these issues of critical importance to my district, as they did during their years of distinguished public service."
"Congressman Andrew Garbarino is a valuable addition to the Committee," said Financial Services Committee Chairman McHenry. "I’ve worked closely with Andrew and know he is a strong advocate for New York and a champion of economic growth and stability. I look forward to continuing to work with him, and the rest of Committee Republicans, as we deliver on our Commitment to America."
