Garbarino Announces $150,000 Federal Grant for Farmingdale's Republic Airport
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Andrew R. Garbarino announced that Republic Airport in Farmingdale, NY will be receiving a nearly $150,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). According to the grant notice provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), the grant will provide economic relief funds for costs related to operations, personnel, cleaning, sanitization, janitorial services, debt service payments, and combating the spread of pathogens at the airport.
"Long Island airports like Republic are an integral part of Long Island's infrastructure and I am pleased to see federal dollars being allocated to provide much needed relief," said Rep. Garbarino. "Federal investment in infrastructure assets is critical to the economic growth of our community which is why I proud that my recent vote for infrastructure funding means that an additional $3.7 million will soon be available to Republic Airport as part of nearly $1 billion coming to New York to modernize, repair and upgrade our airports."
