WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Andrew Garbarino was tapped to serve as Ranking Member of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection, and Innovation.

“I am honored to be selected to serve as Ranking Member of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection, and Innovation,” said Rep. Garbarino. “For too long, China’s state-owned technology and telecommunications companies have been infiltrating America’s data, infrastructure, and telecommunications networks. This is a major national security risk that we cannot take lightly, and with my new role I vow to hold the Chinese and other bad actors accountable.”

House Committee on Homeland Security Republican Leader John Katko (R-NY) said, “We have composed a top-notch team eager to get to work on delivering solutions to the most significant issues facing our homeland today. Congressman Garbarino is uniquely qualified to lead the committee’s bold and aggressive efforts. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the committee to take all action necessary to protect and defend our homeland and way of life.”
